Hi Guys
How many of you who have owned or currently owned the SMG M3 have had any trouble with the SMG system?
Went to BMW today and the pump is only R35k with a 10% discount will be around R32k. VW's DSG Mechatronics unit cost about the same - and apparently they fail often (I know I have changed mine - under warranty)
My E46 SMG did 99k before I sold it and never had any trouble with it and the only claim in its life was a R250 switch which was logged on Motor Plan....
I personally loved the SMG but sold it because a lot of people were warning me about the failures on this gearbox... I spoke to BMW and they said they never had much trouble with them...
I am considering getting another M3 but I don't want to limit my options by only looking at manuals and discounting clean SMG cars...
What do you guys think about this?
