e46 m3 smg gearbox

hey guys, im currently looking to buy an e46 m3 smg, just would like to know does the gearbox give problems, how reliable is it? and if any1 knows of a neat e46 m3 for sale please let me know, pref led spec, less than 100000kms,

I've just sold mine... :bawling:
Only problem I had was the Hydraulic unit on gearbox that needed to be changed at 88,000km. Was done under motorplan but cost them R23k.
From what I have seen, most units only last about 80,000km so check the motorplan on the car you interested in if the unit has been changed or not... Also check for altenator, also only lasts about 80,000km.
Other than that my SMG was a dream! Miss it already!!!!

Remember that the SMG is a manual gearbox, the clutch is controlled by a computer! So its exactly the same GB as the manual version!

cool thanxs for ur reply and advice , so most def the hydraulic unit will be replaced at some time, i am looking for 1 with motorplan if you find any please let me know, and for an led spec what price should i be looking to pay don wanna get ripped off lol

It going to be difficult finding a post 2003.5/4 SMG with less than 100k on the clock and motorplan.
