E46 m3 revs

Hi gents .so i have noticed on my m3 .that when parked it only reves up to 6k rpm .but in motion it revs up to 8k rpm.is it normal or something wrong .as its the first time i noticed it from the time i bought the car .

Any explantions and help please gents

It is normal. It's informally known as the 'dyno rev limit' and it can be changed in software (if you needed to dyno the car). It's nothing to be concerned about.

So its nothing i should worry about ? .its the first time i reved it full and expected it to go full 8k rpm .got me worried

It is how the factory intended it.

If the front wheels are not moving, the car won’t rev past 6000rpm unless put into Dyno mode. Depending on your cars year model, there are various ways to achieve this. Nothing wrong with the car.
