E46 M3 rear brake pads

Hi fanatics

What's the difference between the ///M3's rear brake pads and the rest of the E46 range ? I got rear brake pads from midas this morning (ATE) and they too thick to put the caliper back on. Salesman told me the M3's pad is the same as a 5 series coz its slightly thicker... ?

you sure it is all the way in? sometimes you need to really do it hard.

If that fails, release the brake fluid pressure, that should open it a bit more. But then you will have to bleed the brakes again...

If it is the standard discs for your car it has to fit.

if they dont fit they have to be wrong is my guess

My suggestion would be to take one of the pads with you and pop in to your nearest bmw dealership. Ask them to see a set of the same, and compare the sizes.

I know on the Polo I had a choice of 2 thicknesses on the of pads since some models cam with solid disks and some with vented disks. Maybe your disks are a bit thicker and hence you need to use a thinner pad.
