Those in the know will know that this is one of the fastest K04 GTI's we know of. It was a lekker chilled event and to be honest I was quite surprised that the M3 performed so well.

We went rolling from 60 km/h

Can see what a turbo can do against a supercharger but once at high rpm and Engine displacement to finish him off. Well done Andy

So late 4th and the entire 5th gear is where this car keeps power and nail the opposition, cos if this is Rommies' car, that thing is super fast pulling on a SC M3 like that early on.

Hello guys,

Yes I got punished by Andy's awesome SC E46 M3. As you can see in the video, he reels in from 4th...when he shifts in 5th he passes and keeps pulling then he only shifts into 6th.

By the time he shifts from 4th to 5th I am already in 6th gear long time. The ///M does have long legs.

This is also a clear indication that Andy will be even faster at the Coast. Even though Andy's E46 M3 is supercharged..it also suffers up here the same "percentage-wise" as a N/A car.

I am happy how my car performed. This is basically everything I got (all bolt on with NF Ultra, Revo P3 setting and some water meth). The next step is big turbo on my car but I am not going that route.

Well done buddy. Your car moves properly :=):

Approx red line shift points:

1st = 70
2nd = 110
3rd = 170
4th = 220?
5th = 280?
6th = 290?

So the car showed intake vanos errors and baffled me for some time. If you guys recall I got the car and it had under further inspection found 2 exhaust splines on the vanos unit.

As a lesson to all, on my expense, this is why I DIY on my cars. The wrong part caused the intake piston to over extend and get damaged. Causing a loss of oil pressure and hence loss of performance. Also rough idling at times.

Luckily I have a spare besian rebuilt unit so simply swapped it out

Exhaust side still good

All that's left is timing it back again and while im here ill check the valve clearances again :) Why? Because I love it!

Working on the S54 is my happy place

I'm hoping to test drive it either tomorrow or tonight. Im just fitting the new camshaft bolts to complete the work once and for all.

Hahaha Thanks for the comments guys. On my off days I think of reasons to strip one of the cars :) The ultimate test will come tomorrow to see if it passes the Vanos test or not. Car is still adapting but feels pretty strong now :cartel:
