It will sound like this...

[align=center][video=youtube]

Burg had three manifolds made using the HPF design. This video was made using your exact manifold to show the sound of said manifold.

Unfortunately the manifolds never got finished, they were too heavy and the resources needed to get more made were just not worth the trouble.

Would have been cool to have them finished. Oh well, at least my car sounded like this for a month.

So jealous you bought it from him. I was going to buy it.

Well this is new for me...

I am an avid lover of natural aspirated cars. So this is a little outside of my comfort zone.

However as some of you might already know this is Rowans ex concourse winning M3. So its a great base to work with. The car rides as well as the White one does. Just more comfortable as it has the stock 18s and rubber still on.

The car

I received the car on Friday the 8th of Jan so its only been a couple of days of ownership. However being me I started work right away.

First up the things I know. Valve clearances and cdv delete.

22 out of the 24 shimms was replaced. And I can report the car is idling much quieter and some free wkws were had.

We're still in the early stages of deciding where we want to go with this car but for me personally I want to achieve a reliable daily supercharged M3 with around 300wkw.

This will be the thread where all the dynos and logs and mod changes will be posted as well as tlgps on private test tracks.

Cosmetically the car is in beautiful condition. Ill take some more pics today as I am off and fiddling around with the dynavin headunit.

Very Nice :clapper:

Hopefully tomorrow morning I can fetch a complete vanos unit I managed to source. If its still available... ill post the solenoid pack and valve body for sale soon if I do get it, to recoup some costs.

I'm tempted to just assemble the car as it was and then see how it runs. Get a baseline power figure. Get a revised file and see what we can achieve with the current manifold and cooler setup.

Then I need to have a new charger bracket made (that will lower it slightly) to accomodate the HPF Manifold. Plumbing for the intercooler and brackets and then the new setup can be tested.

What are your guys thoughts?

I think I want front seat when we do the base line figures :tiptoe:

I reckon you've got a point with the charger being a bit lower to accommodate your new manifold, but iam also itching to know what kind off power this thing is making in its current form. :coolShake:

Got a whole vanos unit

And its installed :)

Glad to have helped Andy! I also set the timing up the same way as Dex's and 4Piper's cars, so very curious so see how it runs with the new timing, combined with the correct vanos intake spline.. Lucky that was spotted..
