e46 M3 engine cuts off when starting

Hi guys

My e46 M3 when I tried to start it today started up and then the motor cut off anyone experienced this before. Now the car just swings to start and the motor doesnt start any idea what the fault could be ?

ok ..check & see if you have spark. then check pump

nope its doesnt just starter swinging and engine not starting

For what it's worth, my problem was a dud fuel-pump. The pump had been playing up and packed up finally after I had been unable to use the car for a few days. A very simple home DIY even when, as was mine, the tank is full. I settled eventually for the standard unit but only the pump itself needs to be replaced and it's possible to adapt another unit. I do in fact have an HRC unit (see http://hrc-performance.co.uk/product/gs341-255-lph-fuel-pump-compatible-walbro/) which I bought but was unable to use so am willing to sell it for the sum I paid for it (GBP 56 - say R1200). PM me if you're interested.
