E46 M3 CS

Look what I found in Umhlanga!
a 2006 E46 M3 CS with 93k miles on the odo.
Looks to be in excellent condition.

Ask the owner if he was looking to sell but no luck.

How many do you guys reckon is in SA?

Is this the same 1 that was on Gumtree for quite some time? I think the owner wanted R450k or so... I guess the guy you met must have recently bought it.

There was one advertised around mid 2016 for 450K, the ad said that it was brought in from Europe... It was blue as well so could be the same one... i doubt there are more than one in SA...

Its def the same car. It's also SMG. Frankly, the CS spec is cool, but nowhere near worth the huge premium the seller wants at circa 150 000km.

Youd be better off buying a mint standard car and fitting some of the parts.

The best part (IMO) about the CS was that you could get it with a manual gearbox, unlike the CSL... but this one was spec'd with the SMG box

Was the CS more powerful then a standard M3? OR Csl? or is it just cosmetic stuff?
19-inch BBS alloy wheels; 19"x8" front, 19"x9.5" rear, the 8" front is exclusive to the CS, the CSL has the 8.5" version, the rears are the same as the CSL.

Specially tuned spring rates for the Competition Package; this was carried over to all M3 production from 12/04 on.
CSL steering rack: More direct steering ratio of 14.5:1 (vs. standard M3s 15.4:1)
CSL's M-Track Mode enabled with a button mounted on the steering wheel.

CSL's Larger front disc(345mm from 325mm) with Standard M3 callipers, but painted black and with larger calliper carriers.

CSL's Larger piston in rear callipers and standard (328mm) rear disc, again, with black painted callipers.

Alcantara steering wheel and hand brake covers.

Interlagos Blue exterior paint available as an exclusive colour option and
unique aluminium interior trim.

And power/torque output remained the same, only the CSL was more powerful.
