I'm loving my new ///M but I can't seem to love the "clunk" on cold start up/first start. BMW has failed to locate the "cluking" noise that I get on reverse. Note that after "first startup" the noise is not there

Any other ///M E46 SMG owners experience the same?

Car my making all kinds of noises and i had the diff replaced and it came back a different car- you sure that you have the new SMG sw?

This car also a new diff - replaced +-1.5years ago. The software was updated while I waited +-4 weeks ago but to no avail.

Strange... mine is dead quiet now - touch wood!

S6 is also smoother and much quieter!

try another dealer?

Could be the famous M-Clunk. I get some clunks and drivetrain noise but I beleive it's normal. See below link...

I love the different strange sounds my ///M makes!! I have a rattle that is audible outside the car when idling all the time. Not sure what it is.

Love shifting at high rpm and feeling/hearing the "THUD" from the LSD as it changes gear... that is normal right?

the clunk is normal...it almost feels like the drivetrain is shifting? It's most apparent when leaving the clutch at lower sppeds on the manual

special I think ...believe me, the clunk is very normal
