my alarm keeps on going off for no reason it happened at 3.30am this morning in the garage, wasn't pleased about that apparently its either the boot or bonnet switch?? anybody had a similar problem
the car hardly gets driven, maybe once a week i don't know if this could be the cause

+92 on the bonnet switch,

As diablo points out, just a disconnection, and if the problem does not go away, look elsewhere.

Of course, it is entirely possible to have the car diagnosed properly, and they will tell you what the last alarm trigger event was. Pretty easy.

This is very interesting. I never looked into this problem.

I had it quite badly on my E46 M3?

Especially when it was a hot day too??

Found that once it was standing for a while with temperature not fluctuating too much (ie stored in garage on carpet for weeks) it wouldn't trigger all that much.

Glad I saw this post now after all this time
Give us an update on the bonnet switch :ty:

Yeah Andy, usually worse when hot.

I had an E46 M3 with the same problem.
Mine was resolved and appeared to be related to the Tracker/Netstar unit.
