E46 ///M Decat dilemma

Guys I've got a malema :slap: re. decatting my ///M

From what I hear there's only pro's, post a decat. I've heard great things in terms of consumption, torque & the general sound of the ///M

Options are as follows:
1. Gut my current cat - leave everything in place
2. Remove cats , replace with freeflow boxes with lambda sensors welded on + "foolers" if required
3. Straight pipe with "foolers"

Your opinion on which is the best option & why. Does 1 always have to use lambda foolers?

does the M3 have cats in the branches if so i would get new branches rather than gut them... i would also put in strait pipe rather than gut the cats

a free flow would depend on if you want your car to be loud or not...

I am in the same boat as you buddy, resonators or straight pipes, I really dont want my car to sound annoying, I have been in the aftermarket exhaust boat already, and all I can say is that it was fun while it lasted.

gutting the cats and straight pipes are essentially the same thing, except one is reversible :) I would never gut the cats, but that is just me

m3 cats are in section 1, not the headers

Personally I wouldn't gut the cats, you might need them again one day then you don't have to buy new ones.

Straight pipe with foolers FTW!!
Had it done on my M and she sounded more "raspy" and wasn't too loud. I had to have the software re-mapped to feel a difference in power though...

Yip, I agree with M3nace
Had my cats removed & replaced with straight pipes with built in cat-foolers by TNT
