Hi Guys,

I have a problem that has me stumped with my 01' 325Ci. This is an intermittent problem happening mostly after the car has sit in idle for a few minutes. The car seems to begin idling very badly and a loss of power. Once this starts happening it loses power drastically and it sounds as if its Misfiring... Interesting enough is when I switch the car off then On again it runs fine for a bit the starts again. Could this be an ECU problem since disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seems to work, or what are some of your thoughts?
Just did a full service 5k Ago

I had the same problem a while back and the mechanic sorted it out. Had to replace one of the breather pipes, I think it was near the manifold and the repair was not expensive. Hopefully yours is the same issue.

According to me that "breather" will be the crank vent valve,or such,on the intake manifold,e36 one goes for R880,dunno e46 though. Also, its your crank breather,in a fancy non return valve or something. Will be close to the firewall,on the intake mani,e36`s is round

If I recall correctly, on my E46 the mechanic charged me R175 for the part excl labour...will need to dig up the invoice to make sure.
