E46 Fan behaving strangely 320i

After I had my gearbox fixed, some funny behavior occurs with my car.
Every time I switch the car off, the radiator fan starts spinning very fast for less than a minute or so and then switches off. The car can be cold it still happens. Ever since I had this car I only heard the fan on very few occasions, but now I hear it every time I switch off.

Ok now the blower is not working. No air coming from the vents, no matter how high I set it on the controls.

Checked the fuses and all is ok. May have to take out the blower motor and see if it is working.

Checked the water pipes and the top is hot while the bottom is cold. Car does not overheat though.
Can this be some blockage in the system or is the thermostat F@#ked?

If it's the interior fan that's acting up, it could be the blower resistor (also called hedgehog resistor). Not sure of the exact name but it's a common fault.

Almost sounds like a Thermostat thats not opening properly... Has the cooling system been drained recently? If so, try bleeding it with the bleeder screw on the expansion tank, could be an airlock. PM Coisman for precise bleeding instructions.

Hope you come right mate!

Replaced the hedgehog(final stage resistor) with one from Motormec UK last year. So methinks it's something else.
Will check motor and relay behind glove box.
