Hi. I have a 330i e46 Face Lift with some serious Intermittant Electrical problems. Any advice on where's the best place to get diagnostics done please......

Hey Tirat,

I had diagnostics done this morning at Northcliff Auto (BMW Workshop and Dealership at Cresta in Johannesburg). It cost R235 for the labour, and I asked and was given the full printout of the errors etc. I just felt that it was worth at least paying for a proper BMW diagnosis before starting the hunt for cheap ways to fix it.

The shop seemed to be pretty quiet on these work days in between public holidays, so scheduling shouldn't be too much of a hack.

Hope this helps.

What type of electrical problems? What does the car do/not do?

Hi.

From time to time, pwer cuts off completely as if there's no battery in the car. A minute later, everthing resets and all goes back to normal. On average, this happens 3 times in a week

BMW is quoting me in excess of R 1500.00 to dignose the problem.

Thanks

Thanks. Will give Gizmo a call.

To be honest, R1500 that I've been quoted just for telling me what the problem is, is an arm and a leg to pay..... Thanks

Had similar problem on my 323i but mine was when I was starting the car. All i did was tighten the battery terminals and the problem went aways. Try may they are loose.
