Howzit guys

Please if anyone can help.

This is what's happening, my remote doesn't open or lock the car so I try with the key it doesn't work, only if I put the car on while I'm in side the car switch it off and as long as I don't open the car door it will lock with the key, but as soon ad I get out and try lock it wont lock.

So basically if I stand outside the car window down, put key in ignition turn it take it out n lock it with keyit will lock?

Please guys any help please if anyone knows what's the problem,as they say its not the key as I took it in for a new key!

Thanks

That sound's up Gert's valley. Give him a pm and see if he can help you with that. His member name is Ratslaaf@OBDWorx on the forum.

Sound like your GM5 module is giving you issues or the aerial in the passenger rear door pillar is having issues.

You can try (novice suggestion) the following: Climb into car, close all doors but ensure they are open, the black things in the doors are all up position. Then insert key into slot and turn to start, but don't start, all light must come on. This needs to be done in off to position 2 (all lights on dash) to off and remove key from ignition. Then hold the lock button in and while holding it press the open button (which is the front button behind the key) 3 times quickly for 1 sec hold each. On your third push, release both the buttons

Car should lock and unlock the doors if you did it right. May take up to 5 tries to make this work. So try that first.

Your welcome

Happy to see you managed to get her locked atleast. Gert is an awesome helpful guy and always go miles for a person which makes him special in my books.

He will have you sorted and don't feel like a 1st grade student when you get there and he starts talking bmw technical things, although I loved :praise: it and wanted to learn everything about mine.

Good luck with the key :=):
