anything for the E90 headlights
i have no xenons and want to fit the rings and xenons

hey there bud,

there is still no way to take apart the lens from the E90 headlight housing without damaging anything. for this reason there is nothing that can be done in terms of retrofitting. if you want these rings and projectors inside your headlights then you would have to buy the complete headlights that are manufactured like this in the first place.

i am busy trying to figure out how to do this but with very little luck.

sorry bud.

From what I have read online, the only way to take it apart is to bake it in the oven to melt the glue - then you can take the lens off the housing. Apparently it's quite a mission, takes long, and when you reseal you could have leaks if it's not done properly.

It is possible, however, and there are a few guys in the US who do it - you send them your fitting and they do their thing. Other option like vsomai says is to buy complete fitting - Umnitza has one. Personal opinion - nothing looks as good as OEM

i tried the oven thing but it had no effect on the glue. the lens started to melt but luckily it was a damaged old light. i also tried a heat gun which was also not so easy. still, the housing had to be damaged. i take my hat off to those guys in the US that you say do this.

maybe the US spec headlights have a different glue to the EURO spec ones.

Do you have any pics of these fitted to an E46 vsomai? I have a set that burned out currently and would like to replace it with new ones. But I'd like to see how it looks first

I am interested in a set of these, but I want to know about the colour, it says 7000k + - 200, I am looking for rings with a bit of a blue tint like a 8000k xenon, I bought rings from autostyle a few years ago, and they looked nice and white till I put xenons in my car and the rings ended up looking more yellow than white because of how much whiter the xenons were.

hi, these rings are +-7000K which is pure white. they should not look yellow, unless the quality was bad and it started changing colour over time.
