Can that Carputer handle the vibration of that beast woofer? :fencelook:

I hope so, I was thinking of maybe replacing the HD with an SSD that doesn't have mechanics spinning, but I have seen another thread where a guy also used a lappy HD and the hard drive only died after 5 years, so will give it a test and have regular backups. At least the casing has a lot of rubber anti vibration fittings inside. But will have to test and see what happens.

Can you use external drives for storage and OS? If so than i saw somewhere they have these external HDDs for rugid use, dont know how effective they are but FYI, maybe give them a lookup!!!Keep this thread updated bra, its interesting, hope all is a smooth process!!

Think I might order a small ssd from frontosa, and then put all the essentials on there (windows, centrafuse ect.) and all the data on a normal HDD. I will also be setting the system up so that it automatically backup everything when parked in garage via WIFI..

Think the SSD will also dramatically increase the loading time, I have a similar setup with my HTPC's at home, main drive where software and windows are located is a 32GB SSD, and the main data drives are SATA 3TB's

Yes external drives can be used. Do you know who make these harddrives?

Thee board I am using has:
8 x usb 2.0 ports (2 of them are fast charging ports, will be extended to front)
2 x usb 3.0 ports

Specs:
Thank you for purchasing the PPL-I-150 power sequencer/vehicle ATX power supply.
The PPL-I-150 was designed to work with a wide variety of main boards, such as the VIA mini-ITX motherboards as well as Pentium-M Celeron or full power P4 systems in Car PC.

Power Input Connectors:
J1 Battery + (un-switched battery, positive)
J3 Ignition (switched battery, positive. Can test by connecting it to Battery +)
J4 Battery -(negative)

Controls and Settings:
J6 Controls amplifier via remote ON/OFF. Left pin is RMT, Right pin is GND
J8/J9 To motherboard ON/OFF switch
J10 User jumper settings (1,2,3)

Power Output Connectors:
J2 Optional P4-12V power
J7 ATX power connector (to motherboard)
J5 To LED (optional)

NOTE:
1. If HARDOFF is set to “never”, in order to prevent ‘deep discharge’ situations, PPL-I-150 will automatically shut down when battery voltage is below 11.2V for more than 1 minute.
2. Mode “0” is a normal mode, it seems like the regular ATX power supply, no power sequencing is provided, so it also can be used on non-vehicle-equipment.
3. Avoid using HARDOFF = Never, or it will will completelly discharge the battery in your car if the car stays for a long time without working. We Suggest using the 1, 2, and 4 modes.
4.This power supply will start to shut down at or above 115 Celsius. What's more when the working temperatures is above 85C / 185F, the MTBF will be reduced. So, when it works at high temperatures or under a fanless operation, mustreduce the PSU load must reduced by 25% (Detailed Change-Diagram below):
