E46 aircon compressor jammed?

So my aircon gave up on me last month and I need to get it fixed anyone had experience with this before? the clutch in the unit seems to lock when you switch the aircon on and the pulley does not turn which then burns the accessory belt. Can this be fixed or do I have to replace the unit and does anyone have a unit they want to get rid of?

Your cheapest option will be to get a replacement from the scrapyard. Yours is most probably toast if its seized.

Best bet would be to have to compressor replaced. If you post the last 7 digits of your vin I can tell you what the part number is and more or less what a new one would cost.

Easiest option is to open your windows and sunroof

Rather simple to replace too. The de-gassing is messy though, do it outdoors. Or ask a ac place to vacuum it out first.
