I am looking for an Air Flow Meter for an E46. Any ideas where I buy it. Apparently it is very expensive from the Dealers (Stealers). Would a second hand be recommended? Thank You.

thats quite a wide range of cars.. so exactly which e46 afm are you looking for?

bosch themself's are a bit cheaper than the stealers..

you need to know the exact bosch part number on the afm, then look here..

http://www.maf-shop.com/index.php/cat/c8_BMW.html

you wont find it new for cheaper..
if you can find it second hand just make sure you can return it if it does not work, afm's are fragile and a second hand is always a gamble

ps. DONT buy anything other than a bosch, you will regret it

Thanks

I spoke to a Bosch agent in Midrand - according to the sales person, I was advised that the part is only available from the Stealers. :-(

guess its not impossible, but i think its more likely that the salesperson was being lazy. most bmw afm's are made by bosch, and are thus avaidible from them. do yourself a favor call the bosch agents in pretoria west with the exact bosch number.

if they really cant suply it, your only option is stealers or second hand (if you dont wanna buy on web)

@andrew , i think realoem only gives the bmw part number? not sure

If you guys are looking for the OEM BMW part numbers try this site- has helped me in the past-
http://www.bmwpartsweb.com/
Get the Part number you need then phone around- some good spare shops will help- give them the number only, it often helps with the confusion aspect-
Try Beras- 011 907 6931
they stock alot of spares for various car makes- give them the part number- you never know, they might help.
