Hi,

My electric window regulator packed up (seriously broken)(E46 325i)(driver door). Looked around for replacement and found one manufactured in Italy called "AcRolcar".

Any of the members know or have experience with the product? Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's incredibly hard to tell with aftermarket parts, all I can suggest is to compare the BMW one to the aftermarket one, you will quickly see if it is well made or not. My parts buying experience only keeps me away from most of the Chinese stuff which almost without fail 9/10 is junk.

There is almost no peace of mind with many aftermarket parts and mostly that is why they are cheaper, but look hard and you can certainly get some quality stuff.

Also the Italians are very good automotive engineers, and there are many BMW OEM suppliers in Italy, I'm running Italian manufactered waterpump, brake discs and pads and Korean suspension parts they are top quality, so why not.

If you find it to be worthwhile please share with us where and how much? It's a common problem and maybe some people would join a group buy or something of the sort

There's a guy in pinelands that does it for R599, not sure if its the same make but Philip Foglar had his wifes car done and he was happy with it.

Ok, did the install yesterday and all seems to be working well.
Surprisingly the regulator came with a motor but the connection / wiring needed to be modified to work (an easy fix). Also, the clips that hold the actual window to the regulator are different. All in all, an easy replacement. We'll have to just see how long it lasts.
For any one interested, the manufacuring company website is "http://www.acrolcar.it/".

Purchased the unit for R759 + VAT from Maxim Motor Part in Randburg (and they delivered within an hour free of charge).
