I will only sell my 325i if there was NO other way to get by, and by selling it I would be able to get some cash in hand to help me survive... I won't even trade her in to upgrade, and thats why I decided to keep her, pay her off, and keep her... :inlove:
From day 1 of owning her, I was happy, and after doing software in 2007 via JSN motors, I was even more happy, as it brought out the low end torque more, and made her drink less. So good she was on the highway, that on a trip 360km trip there, and 360km back, going from Pretoria to Nellspruit, I got 6.2l/100km. :dropjaw:
In 2011, going to Uvongo, 722km trip, I got 6.8l/100km going there, as I was pushing it the last 160km to get there, and the car was loaded.
Coming back a week later, I got 7.2l/100km, as I was pushing the entire time, as I still had to go to work that night and was rushing back. :argh:
Highest documented speed test, true speed on the Garmin is 220km/h then I tapped off, but I have indeed run her to where the speedo ends at the 250km/h mark, and I know at that speed there is about a 10km/h reading error, but it was pushing past the the little stripe showing the 250km/h mark, and yea, hit the rev limitter in 5th gear... and slagged of... :fencelook:
After doing full exhaust including headers and twin freeflow, and getting Promotec to do the software, I have even better low down torque, and rarely need to downshift. The only problem now is because of the beautiful exhaust note, and I have been told by other fanatics that my car does sound great, I am constantly putting foot, and gearing back to hear the sound...
I am happy with my baby, and yea, although I did have a run against a stock 325i and lost in a sense, it was purely my fault in launching kak, and I am pretty sure if I have to go to a track and do a few proper runs in a controlled place, I would do MUCH better. I know she is not the fastest, and the newest, and not a 330i or an M3, but for me my 325i is like Tina Turner sang: "You're simply the best!!" :inlove:
