What do you guys think?

My buddy actually want's to go as far as pink slips :flyfun:

He claims the Juke eats GTI's, but I really cannot see that a car rated 0-100KM/h in 8sec will beat any of them.

If its at altitude he will give you a run in first 2 or 3 gears... with my 320d e90 stock I gave a e90 330i sticks first 3 gears...then as we know it comes back strong.

Step 1 --- Tell your buddy he's a retard, and start questioning your friendship with him.

As for a race, it depends if you're at altitude or at the coast, how healthy your VANOS is, what mods, etc...

At the coast, a healthy 330i should outrun a Juke Turbo... at altitude, I'm not so sure.

However, top end, you'll rape him every time - they're limited at 220-ish if I'm not mistaken due to their tyres, and not very aerodynamic at that.

Like any little Q-car, the Juke's are overhyped... they're quick, and they can outrun the odd stock and/or slightly sick GTI... but they're hardly the monsters that owners like to make them out to be, and a well-driven G6 GTI will rape seven shades of hell out of a Juke - but you never hear those stories, only the questionable wins.

Here's an example: My stock 330i with blocked catalytic converters has run neck-and-neck with a 2.0T Audi TT from 60-180 km/h - at altitude. I don't take the result as depicting my 330i's performance though, but rather how sick / poorly maintained / poorly driven the TT must have been, as he should've ass-raped me.

Other okes would be plastering that win all over the place, and then keeping quiet the next time they get man-handled by a properly driven GTI.

Make no mistake - robot-to-robot 1st-2nd-3rd, up to 120-130 km/h, the Juke is deceptively quick in the hands of a decent driver due to relatively short gearing and a peppy little motor... but after that the advantage stops and the Juke starts taking shots at higher speeds.

Point being, if you know how to launch a 330i hard, you should have a slight advantage off the line... but don't race a Juke robot-to-robot in the typical "1st-2nd, tap-off" type of race... ensure you've got a nice stretch where you're going to run up to 200+, and you shouldn't have a problem outrunning him at the coast - even at altitude, you should be ahead unless the Juke's been remapped.

The only reason he beat the Gti's and can maybe beat your car is of the fact that everytime they look over to see where he is they get so sick from the looks and styling of the Juke they, well, what rhymes with juke?

Did the guys in the GTi's he raced know that there was a race going on? :fencelook:

+1....I dont think he meant G6 GTI's.....those are 0-100 in under 7sec uphere compared around the 9's that a Juke will run...

I personally think off the line the Juke being turbo'd and thus having lots of torque avail low will pull ahead but it would start running out of breath compared to the 330 from 3rd....

I say do it, but the leave the pink slips at home, that can only get nasty. Some rich drunk guy tried the same with me, his Aston Martin Vantage V8 against my F10 M5. I chickened out of pink slip deal, but we raced anyway........man, I wish I hadn't been a chicken, that Aston would have looked nice sleeping outside my garage.
