A student with a 330d, your budget can't be that bad :)

From more performance contact Xcede for software, and get a decat done, that is pretty much all you need to do :)

Please don't make a good car like that RICE. If it is a automatic, don't remap it on a students budget, because you will replace the gearbox within 30kkm. If it is a manual, go for it, get xcede to do a remap!

@sankekur I kinda hit a luck with the 330D lol was the family car till they got a new one and the 330d got past onto me!
@barkie So interms of price what am i looking at? you got some good gains from the remap. i got the the 6speed manual so a remap would work well.

@ Camiel..... Work was done by P.E. branch. Shaun from Xcede in P.E. was very helpful and the work was on a special till Dec. last year. The decat and remap was R5300.00. I paid R300.00 for the pre and post dyno runs. Mine is a 6 speed as well and all i can tell you that this car is such a joy now. If i turn off the DSC and put foot in a 2nd gear turn, the rears just start to smoke. My friends can not believe that an oil burner can go like this. I think the important thing is that you must not do snappy gear changes and slip the clutch to much on full power. The down side is the rubber on the rear corners will not last long if you are too happy with the throttle.

Hi BMW Fanatics, I have a 2003 330D (F/L) 6sp manual(individaual) with150KW and 410 Nm done 210 000km. Is it advisable to do remapping on this car.

Yes. Just be ready with funds to replace the turbo. At that mileage, the turbo might be near its end and with a remap it works a lot harder and get a lot hotter (read: wears out quicker). Same with tyres. I always view a turbo like tyres, it is a maintenance item.

Thank you P1000.

Oh, and a decat is also a good idea. It will help lower exhaust gas temperatures again - means you can map more aggressively. Only downside is the exhaust will smell like an old diesel bakkie's.

I had to replace my vibration damper pulley last week. This is the third pulley in 50 000 km, that is replacing the pulley every 16500 kms. What could be the cause of this? any suggestions.
After last replacement of the vibration damper pulley engine sounds very loud, and sometimes I feel I am driving a tractor.
