Hey guys, still a newbie so to speak. Truth is i registered some time back but just lost touch.

Anyways my 330d 03 model individual motorsport auto currrently just on the verge of hitting the 200 mark seems to be quite heavy on consumption. Had a 330d manual and was averaging about 8 locally , this one is the newer spec engine but i average about 11 locally and thats not a lot of stop and go either ?

any taughts

That is about the difference between auto and manual. Remove the DPF (sometimes incorrectly called a "cat") in the downpipe and do an EGR delete. It should reduce consumption and spool time. (And if you still have swirl flaps, remove those by last week! seriously, take them out ASAP)

hey guys, thanks for all the help and comments good and bad :blab:

Just got my wheels back, turns out the air filter had not been changed in like forever seems to have managed to drop the average consumption already.

Tune tech , Shaun also replaced the expansion bottle (had coolant leak and decided to get it done) all piping and clamps as well and did the control arm bushes whilst there.

All in all car driving much more stable now and no more clunking sound on the wheels. Came at a price but at least she runs like she supposd to by the badge on on her back.

Congrats on an awesome machine.

I used to own a e46 330D auto.

When theyre going well, theres nothing like that power. Oh, how i miss it, but alas, I had to move on before i spent alot more money on the car.

Be aware of the gearbox. The autos do begin to slip and a recon can cost between R18k to R22k. This is a known issue with the 330D auto. I would get the gearbox fluid replaced at a reputable mechanic. Tunetech are awesome, so I would recommend them for sure.

Some pics would be greatly appreciated.

What did it cost you to do this, Thinking of sending my car for a checkup...
