E46 330Ci door lock issue

Good day fanatics, looking for a bit of advice on an issue my uncle’s 330Ci convertible has been having.

Car was recently purchased and the seller mentioned that sometimes the driver door won’t unlock and that he sometimes would give the door a jab on the lock and that would unlock it. (This doesn’t work)

The door won’t unlock from inside with the unlock button or by pulling on the door handle, the key also doesn’t unlock it whatsoever. I’m thinking it could be a GM5 issue with the relays. Anyone else had this issue?

I had it back when i had my e46 as well. Went to Combined Electronics and they sorted out the GM5. After that it was perfect.

Was it only the one door or did you have issues with the fuel flap and other doors? The fuel flap also doesn’t always work with the central locking.

GM5 affects all doors. I remember it being so frustrating getting to my car and i couldn't get in or out of it. Had to climb in/out through the window if i was in a hurry.
