Hi there guys!

So tonight i had a bit of a drive with my e46 320d. After some fairly spirited driving, but nothing too major it felt like it suddenly stopped boosting. So my question is:where does the turbo sit on the 320d? Because the last time this happened the mech said that one of the boost pipes came off. Seeing as its a long weekend im not too keen to have my car sitting until monday before getting it sorted. Any other basic things that maybe could have gone wrong? P.s the turbo is about 10000km old so i doubt that that would be the problem itself. TIA

Boost leak or vacuum leak by then sounds of it. The turbo is on the drivers side of the car. Under the manifold. Its not easily accessible.

Look on realoem.com to see the routing of the vacuum lines for your car. Ill put money on it that its probably a vacuum line thats perished. 4mm hose at midas or similar goes for around R20 per meter. Get 2 meters and replace all of the hoses. Cheap and worthwhile fix.

Ok so the problem was a vacuum hose. Under the intake manifold one of the vacuum hoses cracked and jumped off. All of that is sorted now so the smoker is running as good as ever:rollsmile:
