I recently bought an e46 320d. This is my first diesel bmw. The car has full service history up to 231 from franchise and the rest at another mechanic. Its currently seating at 311. The car is in very decent condition. Upon taking up ownership i changed all filters, added new liqui moly oil and changed the cylinder head breather. The smoking got better but--
My problem is when the car is cold, you get a greyish smoke then it gets much better when it warms up, its almost hard to see it when it is on normal operating temp.
