Guys, you that have had or still have a 320d E46 manual or auto, what is the estimated/actual lifetime of these cars? Am looking at buying a 2002 E46 320d auto with 182k kms and was wondering if they do high mileage. Car still feels and drives sweet, with full service history, old man's car (I know, not always good) but at least I know it has had a gentle life. Your experience/opinions will be much appreciated. Thanks. I know about the turbos and the auto gearbox and the swirlflaps (will remove that as soon as the car is bought), and decat and egr disable (both will be done soon after purchase), but the motor itself, how good is that?

the engine itself is in my opinion nearly indestructible if one of the known weak points dont take it out.. in other words if it does not swallow a turbo or swirl flaps, and gets regular oil services.

i saw a 2003 320d in a workshop once, that drives pretoria - louis trichard 3-4 times a week.. the engine core had 900k on it, although everything hanging from it had been replaced (turbo's , altenators, starter ect)

the 320d auto i dont have much experience with, the manual you have to work hard to break..
