glow plugs have no effect on a running engine.. only aid coldstart below a certain temp.. e46 have no dpf, only cat.. though cat might be blocked.
have someone start the engine while you watch the turbo, if the arm moves reasonably quick to the fully closed/against the stop, the turbo vacuum control is probably working correct, and so is the vnt vanes in the turbo.
use inpa, open the engine controller, (engine running) go to analog tab.. maf should be giving a reading there..
open current/desired tab, rail pressure should be at 300 bar around idle, and should max out at 1600bar at full throttle/load . maf should max out at around 1/3 throttle..
go to mass adjustment tab, all injectors should be in the green zone at idle and at max load..
if all is ok here, its not fueling, nor maf..
