Hi, we cleaned up the EGR on my son's E46 320d, it still stays shut even after cleaning, the vacuum does not pull the valve open. While the pipe coming from the intercooler was off, I asked him to start the vehicle to check if the turbo boosts at all. There is a little boost, but not nearly enough. When I put the pipe back, the vacuum from the engine actually sucks more than what the turbo can boost. There is no smoke, so I reckon the seals must be ok? Can it be that the wastegate stays open due to carbon? Any suggestions what to check next?
