e46 320D - good idea?

hi guys,

our daughter's day mother wants to sell her 2001 320d, about 220 000km...for R50 000:tiptoe:

done some reading but most posts around 2013 so not sure if new concerns have come up or if some views on the car has changed.

320d as a 2nd car? might sell my astra coupe for this one - still havent pulled the trigger on replacement car.

195 000 - and a SHITLOAD of problems that needs adressing....

Make no bones about it, a car with 220 000 kms on the clock may not be any easier to maintain but the parts may be freely available.

A car like that has most likely been stomped day in and day out before you.

You may be able to sell it for a decent price and then use the positive difference in cash to chuck into maintenance of the bimmer from the off as preventative.

Im no expert on a car with such mileage on it though. That's just my view point on the face of it.
