e46 318i (pre f/l)accelerator stuck

Hi,

I have a very odd problem on my 2001 318i. It is almost as if the accelerator gets stuck at random intervals. I cant pin point what the car is doing when it happens. It "un-stucks" when I tap on the accelerator pedal.

Any ideas?

Before you run into any Toyota related problems... Take out the pedal and make sure it's not dirt. Follow the acc cable (I'm sure you don't have drive by wire in the 318) and check for any stiffness etc up to the engine.

BMW's are known for their 'stiffer' petrol pedal, but it should not get stuck inbetween.

Yeah the pre-f/l definitely has a cable for the throttle.

if that fails reve the cable and put some oil in between the cable ad the platic covering a d the work the cable in and out till satisfied
