E46 318i fuel level dropping drastically

Hi Guys, been lurking on the forum for a while now. I have a e46 318i touring and recently the fuel needle as well as the the OBC range value have been dropping drastically. I'm assuming it has something to do with the fuel level senders? Any idea what these cost to replace? Any advice would be appreciated!

Are you using more fuel also? Perhaps try cleaning the MAF sensor.

reset your cluster using the secret cluster OBD functions its option 21 i think

i am confused.., if your needle and reading is dropping drastically, how are you estimating that you are using the same amount of fuel?

I wait for reserve light to go on fill certain amount of litres and know how many km's I should be getting before reserve light comes on again.

ok, so correct me if i am wrong, but that would imply that the range goes down to zero and the needle sits on empty before the reserve light comes on?

No that's not the case, it fluctuates for eg. I'll drive 10km and the range will drop by 50km. the next time i get in the car and switch the car on the range has gone up by 40km (which I assume is the correct range)
