Advise needed, pls from fellow fanatics. In my wisdom I decided to replace my 1999 E46 318i motor with a 2004 325i motor. This has proven to be a task that runs the full range of emotions. From exciting to down right misery at times. Got the car back from GoTech/PowerMod, did engine management. The car is starting, finally!! The problem is no clutch and the brakes are dodgy. New clutch and pressure plate is in. My questions are: the system needs bleeding. Is the master cylinder under the pedal inside the car? If so, should I've upgraded it to 325 master cylinder, which I "assume" is bigger? Or can I keep the original one? Next: had various opinions on how to bleed the system. If the master cylinder is by the pedal where is the slave cylinder? The brakes and the clutch are hydraulic- are they all connected? Do I bleed at the slave cylinder or at the calipers? Any truth in if I bleed the brakes, the clutch will come right or vice versa? Can somebody pls give me the correct way to bleed the system? The brake reservoir is still the standard 318. Pls don't tell me that this had to be upgraded as well. Thanks - so close yet seems so far ... HELP!! Ken 10 [/font]
