I just have to add my 2 cents

I think the joy of having something that unique in your garage is greater than having driven one for all these years.

Even if it is not a collectable, the 330I is a car many people have driven and loved over the years.
Some people have got fond memory's of these cars and would envy you for having one that could make you feel like you have gone back in time.

You can't put a price on a car like that. The pleasure is just in owning it!

I own a 1980 Mitsubishi Colt Galant with 24 000km.
I have got fond memory's of these cars growing up with them in the family.
I have bought it about 12 years ago with 23 000km on the clock and it has now got 24 000km on the clock
.
I start is about every 3 months and drive it about twice a year.
I change the oil and brake fluid every second year.

I can guarantee you there is no oil leaks or perished rubbers etc and it is in perfect condition.
Better than any one you can find that has been driven on a daily basis.

The joy is in having a perfect example in you garage, something you would never find again!

Hey but every one has got his own opinion, but this is just my 2 cents contribution.

Totally agree!!
The car is valuable - no question about it, regardless of whether he wants to sell or keep it. I wish I had one in this state 12 yrs on! I doubt very much that if it were sold that the person taking it would have endless issues, these cars were built to last. True, things like rubber hoses etc can perish - very dependent also on conditions it has been kept in, but a lot of the time they perish from heat/cold, regardless of use... just look at the windscreen washer container, clean white, not yellowed with age and heat from the engine. I agree that fluids loose their abilities over time but a flush and replace would not harm anything. A truly great example and as has been said, each to their own but I would buy this no worries and have 12+yrs on any model that has come since!

I'm pretty sure that under motorplan there will be no oil changes.

My FIL has a E36 328, '97 model that had MP for 10 years. BMW refused to do any oil changes unless the dashboard lights advise.

Non OEM exhaust.... :nonono:

just kidding, that is mint and clean, not even dusty.

Thanx Sash.

The pics don't do the car justice.
It has got to be seen to be appreciated.
It has never even been driven in the rain.

After 34 years even the fan belt, wiper blades and brake pads are still the ones from the factory.
It still smells new when you open the door!

That's a very clean Colt you have there Alex. My late Father had a 1980 2 litre while I was growing up and that car served him well for 8 years and did over 200000kms with it and never let us down.
those pics bring back fond memories. Thanks for posting

Any reason as to why the car hasnt been driven?

Because of my love of Colt's I own 4 of them that I have collected over the years.
I own a 1979 Galant 2000GLX chrome bumper, A 1982 Galant 2.6 and another 1980 2litre that I drive more often.
All of them in original mint condition.

I also own a 1984 Bmw 323I E30 coupe with 138 000km on the clock also in showroom condition.
My aim is to enter the Bee Em for the concourse this year.

Because the Colt with 24 000km is so original I don't want to drive it because once you start driving it it will need the normal maintenance and you will have to start replacing things due to normal wear and tear.
I want to keep it like it came from the factory as long as I can, untouched.
If I want to drive a Colt I get into one of the other ones I own.

I also have a lot of interest in the Colt's from the Mitsubishi collectors in Australia and Malaysia.

Wow, that is something else! But as said by so many already, it really makes no sense!! Lovely car no doubt, but not really anything all that special in the grand scheme of things! If it was a 1M that has not been driven and simply stored to be preserved, then fine, but a normal E46 330i, I don't see the point...

Amazing find!!! :praise:

To hell with all the technicalities of seals fluids blah blah blah! Forget that he'll never get his money back. It's an amazing find! Who wouldn't want one!!!!!!!!!!

If you were going to do this with a car, I would have done it with a 2005. It's neat and all but I'm going to side with the other guys and say this isnt good for the car. I would be hesitant to buy it. These cars are meant to be driven, cars also develop problems when they are never revved past 1500rpm and just putter around.

I also think the mileage/condition makes it super unique. Real collector stuff. I will buy it and pay extra. Worth it..:thumbs:
