I have never seen these locally. I bought mine off of eBay. Takes about a month to get here.

There are different types of adjusters, depending on whether it's facelift or not. Pre-facelift can be bought from the stealers. Facelift ones can only be bought from ebay.

Make sure you get the version that looks like this one:

E39 facelift adjusters

There's lots of sellers on ebay that sell similar products, some classified incorrectly, so verify that they look like the above. And you're going to need 1 set per headlight.

I would go as far as to say buy double what you need in case a set breaks when trying to install it. Almost happened to me.

Also note that if your headlights are post July 2002 production dated, you will NOT be able to open them using heat (an over). You will melt the headlight before that epoxy gives way.

I had to resort to cutting my headlights open.

Luckily mine can be baked as I have opened them the other day I tried to make my own set which did not quite work. I have read on the US forum (bimmerfest) that you can get aluminium sets as well which would be better on the long run.

They would be, but the plastic ones should last at least another 7 years or so depending on mileage. So if you get 2 sets and don't break anything when installing, you'll have enough supplies to last a long time.
