Anybody know what the battery size is for the e39?
Need to replace mine and the PO used a slightly smaller size.
Would like to get the correct size replacement.

5er uses 658 battery. Some companies make it in 90amp other in 100amp.

Bmw oem 90amp is R2027 if you bring the old battery.

i got it from a willard dealer,

he wouldn't let me put a willard in because nothing much the oem one hence i got that and it was cheaper than what his own brand suggest.

i purchased it 19 months ago lol

657 is far too small to carry the electronics of a 5er easily.

Then again, the 658 holds up damn well. In almost 3 years my battery has never failed me, and I can be pretty abusive of the electronics when the car is off, for 5 to 6 hours at a time.

Check out Duratec Batteries. Way cheaper than Willard and have EXCELLENT performance. Have been using them for years in my business as I buy batteries often.

24 month warranty too.

Got a 658 Duratec 100ah and 850cca iirc
Much better specs than the one it replaced.
Usually would have gone for a known brand, wanted to get a varta but the pricing almost R1000 more
Duratec was R1450
