e39 540i lighting issue

hi everyone,

i got a couple questions regarding my e39 540i,

when i turn on the ignition i get the "check brake light" and "check low beam" warnings, i notice my 'angel eye" parking lights on the passenger side aren't working, but i just replaced my brake lights, and my headlights are working ,brights and lowbeams, so wanted to know what it could be?

does something need to be reset for the message to clear?

could it be an issue with the light control module?

any ideas?

also how can i check if i have halogens or zenons?

Check the connection at the brown earth wire. On the E46, the connector where the brown wire hooks up to the light burns out - might be the same issue with the E39.

also check the integral window brake light, as well as the number plate lights.

on my E39 the window brake light had failed.

there is no "reset procedure" as such....once ll the globes are fully functional again...ignition off, ignition on....is all that will be required
