E39 525i M SPORT TOURING INDIVIDUAL

Hi guys, i'm new to the forum. I took delivery recently of a pristine M Sport Wagon. I bought it in the knowledge that the ASC control unit had to be replaced. it does not seem affect the drive or stopping of the car but i would like to have the part replaced or repaired as soon as i can. Does anyone know where i could get a good second hand unit or a new one without having me to sell a kidney? Your advice would really be appreciated.

The E39 ABS Unit is quite pricey, better to check at the scrap yards for second hand or reconditioned units.

Are you certain that it is this unit that needs replacing? check your wheel/brake sensors if the lights on the dash is lit up - give them a clean and check.

I have Malcolm thanks, at least my brother did. it wasn't the wheel speed sensors.

Clinton, take your car to Combinded Electronics in Plattekloof. Guy called Henry is a master at fixing the abs control modules. Pricey though, my friend had his car's fixed at a cost of over R4k, more than 3 years ago (Henry could not get the original one to work for longer than a test drive so got a secondhand one that he repaired and it lasted untill my friend traded the car a few months after the repair) Could be that it is cheaper if he is able to fix yours.
