E36 Wheel Offset

My question is..... is it an over positive offset that is causing the tyre to rub against the fender liners when turning fully

Also what is the standard offset for an E36 Sedan ?

15" Style 6 has a et47 offset
17" M Contour style 23 is et41 offset

Is the inner edge or the outer edge touching ? My e36 handbook pg 110 gives 47 mm offset for 15 inch rims and 41 mm for 17 inch rims

I bought a set of 17inch M5 Replica rims, not sure what the offset is but gonna check this evening.

@Ray - At present I got 17inch E46 M3 Replica rims and the inner edge of the tyres is touching
