E36 Speedo Issues

Howsit guys? I have a 98 E36 323i. My speedo has been giving me issues. Every now and then the speedo needle doesn't move from "0". It jumps back on occasionally while driving and sometimes i park off and the next day its working again.

Any ideas?

You're going to have to pull out your instrument cluster and see if the board on the speedometer is corroded. The speed sensor is on your rear diff, but considering its intermittent and either works normally or not at all, I'm guessing it's in the cluster. Loose connections, failed solder joints, corrosion, etc.

Thanks for the info Major. Is it better to take to a Mac or can I attempt myself? And if I need some assistance, anyone know of someone who can assist me?
