E36 roof lining

Alright then gents.
I re did the roof lining in the e36
Wasn't too difficult, just the fear of breaking the roof insert.

So what I did.....
Removed all the seats sun visors and the pillar panels.
Roof insert fell down to dash level, with a bit of left and rights I managed to get the insert out through the rear left door, I did have to use some force but just watch the insert is like fiber glass but softer, it will break. After applying the new lining I went in through the back left door and put everything back.

The instructions from pelican parts was actually very good, good info on that site.

Hi Gazza

Nice project, if I may ask what material (adhesive/glue, cloth type, etc.) did you use and where did you buy? I heard Gorilla Glue is the best but I struggle to get it. Thank you.

Hey hey. I used gemchem contact adhesive the material i got from habby and lace. According to the till slip its called c/d car roof lining foam back and it was marked at r119 p/mtr. I got 2.5mtr and it was way too much. But id rather have too much than too little.

Hi,

Nice work on the roof lining. Need to get around to mine. Any plans for the seats? I can get genuine E36 bmw leather seat uppers in black, brand new in boxes. can be sown on or slipped over.
My seats were also white and in a terrible condition when I got the car. let me know if you are interested.
