E36 Rear axle tramp...mxm!

Hi,

Can anybody shed light on rear axle tramp, what the cause is and how it can be cured?

I fit OEM trailing arm bushes last week and I've been getting axle tramp since. I've replaced EVERYTHING short of rear stabiliser bushes and mountings at the rear, so now what? It happens if I powerslide out of a turn rollsmile or if I hit a bumpy section of road under power mid-corner...

What can I do to fix this other than slowing down :fencelook:

The e36 is known for being jumpy over bumpy surfaces , read the Car magazine road tests .
Did you have the alignment done , it has to be done if the trailing arm bushes are replaced .
Did the car do this before the bush change ?
I know the guys in America had a lot of trouble with their Bushes :roflol::roflol: , there were two types that were later discontinued.....

No there wasn't any tramp before because the car was too busy rear-wheel steering from the worn bushes:fencelook:...rear wheel steer is gone now. I'm aligning the car tomorrow so hoping for some improvement. As for the bumpy stuff maybe I need shorter bump stops at the rear to allow more travel,plus the OEM ones I currently have are WAY passed there best...

I was told if alignment isn't done properly at the rear, expect excessive tyre wear :fencelook:

i only see this now... think we have resolved this by PM already but for people with the same problem i will post here...

if you riding the bump stops then its almost definitely caused by that...

there are two options cut the existing ones down if they still in good shape or I have short powerflex ones for you :rollsmile:
