E36 Power Steering Issues

Hi all,

I have some issues with my power steering, i recently had an issue where my bracket that holds the power steering pump to the block broke and managed to get another one, after putting everything together again, i noticed that the line from the rack to the pump was damaged, but i had to drive the car like that for a short time, got the line sorted put fluid back in and did the whole lock to lock bit, the fluid was going through as i used 2 bottles of ATF and it was still empty on the 3rd bottle of ATF is stayed full, but alas no power steering.

What could be the problem now, the fluid went through and there are no leaks? Is there something else that i need to check or make sure of?

Powersteering pump don't like to be driven dry, propably powersteering pump itself.

thanks for the reply, then could i replace with either ZF or Luk, seems like ZF is more available and i currently have the Luk.
