E36 matt black kidneys

Want to know how to remove the chromed kidneys (grille) because i want to paint the chrome part matt black. Had a go at it this morning but broke one of the clips and decided i have to get help or sit with loose kidneys (the car's, not mine)

there is no specific way but being carefull and take your time...
i used to lift one clip at a time and then just wedge on side and do the other etc...

ps. dont paint it matte black, they chip like a nightmare and then looks crap... rather use vynil

Don't lift the "hook" too much. It must just be lifted high enough to clip loose.
Do it carefully an they won't break.

instead of matt black, go for gloss...looks much better
