Awesome car. There are only 25 like that in SA. The original intention was to race the cars in Group N but they would have no competitors. 3 of the cars where the press cars used. Yours is the first one I have seen that has a sunroof.
You can also get the Darth Vader style seats with that cloth and alcantara. The cloth motorless seats are about 25kg lighter each than the electric :excited:

the first e36 m3's were assembled in south africa by bmw sa .the only country to assemble m3's out of germany.
the later german specs were imported from germany

Yeah its kinda funny to think how few competitors would have been around at the time.

I've got mine weighed, and with half tank of fuel, and me sitting inside (80kg) the mass is 1500kg.
Bare in mind, i had all 6 disks in the CD shuttle, a full set of tapes in the centre console storage
Oh, and mine has a removable towbar, and that was with the spare wheel :shocked:
Mine aint exactly light weight......

Would be interesting to compare, if you get an opportunity to weigh the vehicle..

I had mine weighed on Continental Tyres truck weighbridge. It measures in 20kg units and showed at 1500kg. That was with no driver, 55l fuel, then about 5kg crap in the car and add about 5kg for audio upgrages. Otherwise everything else standard. So thats 1435kg.

Thanks mate, so for comparison ..... mine is 1500 - driver(80kg) - fuel (30L = 30kg) = 1395kg?????
Yours should be lighter than mine, maybe their weighbridge was out of calibration. Mine has sunroof, electric leather seats, removable tow-bar, which was in the boot....

The original m3's which came into the country had the Alcantara option, which is in fact Suede, gentlemen, so actually costlier than the leather, and also came with the embossed ///M Motif...
