:joy: car is finally back on the road after 3months thanks to Prev and Gizmo for the cyl head  I had to replace 3 pistons all the inlet (12) valves and 2 exhaust valves agents was asking R1800 per valve :flyfun: Gizmo hooked me up with a complete head for an excellent price  So i've spent a small fortune on this car, yes i know i could have bought a running car for that price but i've got piece of mind knowing whats gone into the build and hopefully get another 200k out of this new engine. Car is running lovely taking it very easy for the run in, just a few cosmetics to sort out in engine bay now and i will be happy. Will post some pics as soon as i've washed and cleaned

 Thanks guys really enjoying this car now trying to get to my 1000ks so i can retorque, oil change and open her up a bit  . All that running around and hard work finally paid of. I just need to do a grease and spray because she was parked off for so long im hearing some squeaks from the suspension. I owned an e46 m3 smg which i really enjoyed driving but it doesnt compare to my current e36, the e36 m is rough and rugged + its manual i dont know about the power yet because im not revving past 3000rpm and not going over 100kph but she wants to go  Bmw really created an awesome machine this car is 20years old and is still running the way it was designed to :inlove:

So which plugs did you fit? and what oil?

I fitted the ngk platinuim R480 and castrol edge 5w 40. The car was running mobil 1 when it picked up knock so i didnt want to put in the same oil + ive been using castrol on all my cars for years and never had any issues with it. One of my friends tried indy oil quantec in his 3.2 he did 800ks and ran a bearing :argh: My oil temp isnt going past 80 and i drove about 120ks today in the heat not going over 100kph though, is that normal?

Can't run those cars without an oil cooler :nonono: they run to hot here in Africa as it is! Try Cliftons in Cape Town for used ones.....

I'd say it's normal. Didn't you fit a new oil cooler?

 hi guys after all this hard work, bruised knuckles, late nights, money and time put into this car it was stolen from stellawood road licencing office in umbilo on the 09/05/13. I took the car for its cor which it passed then i decided to take a drive to the licencing office to do the change of ownership and get a new licence disk and plates, i parked the car infront of the gaurd on duty, locked it and activated alarm system i then went into the licencing dept and followed the line for 1hr35min little did i know that the guy sitting next to me was watching my every move and communicating via bbm to his accomplices who were busy stealing my car outside, 15minutes before i could be attended to he gets up and walks off to join his freinds and they drive of in my M3. I walk out new log book, disk and key in hand and theres no car :thumbdo: i ask security he says "iesh i dont know baas ". The cops were called and they opened up a case etc but no sign of my car. The vehicle wasnt fitted with a tracking device and wasnt insured yet as we were waiting for it to be registered. The only thing we have is the cctv footage of the guy inside that was following me :argh: :bangdesk: This is the second car in 2 months my brother was hijacked for the 325ci on the 27/02/13 the trackin device was removed in 22minutes and no insurance

Wow that sucks so bad. Another e36 M3 bites the dust. Goes to show you cant leave a car uninsured for even hours.
Hope for your sake the car is recovered.
