E36 M3

Hi.
I own a 2001 E46 320i, facelift, with 112000 kms (I do about 10000kms per year) and previously owned two E36 328i (both individuals). I would like to get something else; option one is a 97 E36 M3 which I see advertised for around R120000 with about 150000km and I keep my 320i. M3 will be a weekend car, at least that is the idea.

The second option is to get a 05/06 E90 330i with around 100000kms or less for about R200000 BUT then I sell my 320i.

I am a bit nervous about maintenance and reliability of a 14 yr old M3. As regards the E90, they are out of M/plan now or don't have much to run and not sure about the maintenance cost. What I do know is that those 18 inch run flats cost an arm and a leg. Think its R4000 per tyre.

E46 M3 is out of my price range.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

I would go for the first option.

Go for the M3. The maintainance isnt that bad when you compare it to a e90 out of motorplan.

what is interesting is that you are the second guy on the forum that is considering both these cars...interesting. M3 for me all the way...legends.

asked the same question last week...what i've leant, if you want an M get it. Don't bother asking anyone on this forum, they will all tell you to get the M :thumbsup:
