Hi Guys,

Popped the top radiator hose on the M, due to the top hose neck breaking. Can this be fixed or do I need an entire radiator. Looking for someone in the Edenvale area to repair.

Same (sort of) happened to me
i thought the clamp was too tight and could do a temporary fix.
The radiator however started leaking a couple of months later
(on the side) - clearly it was time to replace it
The plastic goes brittle due to heat after a couple of years.

Behr is the brand to use on BMWs

Try GOLDWAGEN EDENVALE, 166 Van Riebeeck Ave, Motor Car Parts & Accessories, for a replacement radiator.

or Silverton Radiators in Germiston, 252 Main Reef Rd Knights, 011 8289920

Thanks Guy's

Got one from Silverton Edenvale, R3100.

Never thought replacing a radiator was such a mission.

While you are busy with the radiator please replace your clutch fan and the fan blades. My fan blades exploded last year and cause serious damage to my bonnet, luckily the only other thing that got damaged was the bottom water pipe.

My tophose radiator neck cracked on me last night...:argh: at least I was lucky enough to have it happen just as I drove into work! Noticed the smell of coolant in the cabin, then steam from the bonnet, parked quickly and immediately turned it off.The temp guage hadn't budged so that's good. Now to get a new radiator eish.......

For a Behr? Mine cost around the same about 2 months ago after the neck broke off my 328i radiator in a rather spectacular fashion when idling in the pits after the cars first ever 5 laps, a viscous fan blade died with it, presumably the water pressure against one of the fan blades, it was fortunately still attached though so I threw the whole lot away and replaced with a Behr 3 core M3 radiator after many calls around the country it seemed the going rate for those.

Silverton gave me a quote of R1700 for my 328 on Friday,am only getting it on Wednesday though :( ...
May as well get a new radiator cowling as mine had cracked (unrelated). Hope nothing else is wrong and the car will be back to normal.

Radiator fitted, drove around the office block a few times. No leaks, viscous fan engages as normal, temp gauge at dead centre. I'm still paranoid though because cooling system is a bitch to bleed so I'm hoping that the one attempt was successful because the drive home includes a 12km hillclimb......
