e36 M3 seat not reclining

Hi guys I need some help and not sure where to start looking.
A few days ago my drivers seat stopped reclining and I have no idea where to start fault finding... Any suggestions ? Is there a fuse that controls this coz I can't hear the motor when pressing the button.

this is a well known issue with the e36 m3 seats,
its the gear in the gearbox which strips. yes the seat has a gearbox.

the parts will cost you $40.00

Ive done 2 repair jobs before. but both were passenger side.
the passenger side uses the white gear and the driver
side the green one.

i do have 2 x gears made of brass here.... but its a harder to install and involves some sandpaper, and a drill...

If the gears were stripped, wouldn't the motor still make a whirring sound?

Yep I ope it yesterday and found the green gear broken. The motor is still good

My E36 M3 also had a passenger seat that never reclined, it must be a common problem.
